 The Salem Witch Trials actually Massachusettes and it spread to Salem village. 

The assumtions of women and some men being a witch or warlock and having ties to the devil. They were then killed and tortured by the towns court. It was also believed that witch/ warlocks signed their names in the devil's book with blood. 

February of 1692:

Elizabeth Parris, and Abigail Williams accused 3 women of being witches. These women included: Sarah Good,Sarah Osborne,and Tituba. They were all arrested.

The Reverend of Salem villages daughter and niece had become uncontrollably ill. And the doctor had diagnosed them with being bewitched. This soon spread to the other surrounding villages and towns. The infected included married women,teens,and children.  

March 1 1692: 

Tituba confesses to being a witch and working with the devil. She also reads off many names of so-called "witches".

June 10 1692:

Bridget Bishop is hung at Gallows hill, her death was the first offical execution.
